Learn about the team and our mission.
Esteban, Cora, Ben, Etta, Ellie, Kieran, and Dominic are 4th and 5th grade students from Saline, Michigan on Team Roboswarm competing in the First Lego League Challenge. We share a love of Legos, learning, Dum Dum lollipops and cats!
Team Roboswarm identified the following problem that archaeologists today face:
Archaeologists have difficulty contacting other archaeological sites as well as locating experts on certain types of artifacts or areas of interest.
We brainstormed ideas and decided that the best way to connect archaeologists to each other and to experts is to build a website!
Our team has worked hard over the last few months creating and then improving a website we are very proud of. This site allows archaeologists, experts, students and anyone interested in archaeology to connect with peers, ask questions, and access educational materials.
We used several tools to create this website. We used the Sveltekit framework, Supabase for authentication and database, and Tailwind CSS to make it look nice.
We also used several API services including Mapbox for mapping, LocationIQ for geocoding, and 'Cat Mode' uses the "Cat As A Service" API to randomly generate cat images. APIs are similar to our Robots attachments because they serve a specific purpose.
We also used GitHub to keep track of our code and Netlify for website hosting.
All of the tools we used are free!
We used Vibe Coding to create this website. That is when you tell AI what you want to make and it helps to do it for you. We used Claud.
